Latest Session

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, CREA’s Lynn St-Germain and Mike Lomond joined us to share CREA’s Tech Tools for REALTORS® and CREA’s new Brokerage Training Hub and how these powerful tools can be used to empower your agents to generate more leads and enhance their impact.

Follow-Up Questions:

  1. Is there an option to add comments when forwarding MLS® statistical links to our clients? When using the Member App, since we use native sharing on the device, members can add additional comments when sharing a report with their clients. It is possible to select “text message” as a sharing option (click here for a visual example). Comments cannot be added when sharing takes place from the desktop version of member.REALTOR.ca or when the member selects the scheduled option for ongoing delivery of reports to their clients.
  2. When the last sale price of a property is included with the listing information, what is the source and is a date of sale noted? The data shown on REALTOR.ca, including sold data information, is determined by the local board (or sometimes the provincial regulators). The date of the final sale may not appear on REALTOR.ca.
  3. How do I update my REALTOR® profile? What is the profile word or character limit? Can I do profile updates through my real estate board, or must I go through CREA? Profile data is given to CREA by member boards. Therefore, a member’s board is the first place to go to update their profile information. There are some boards that allow profile information to be updated on member.REALTOR.ca such as the member’s profile picture, adding videos, and including additional descriptions. Some boards do not allow these changes, so it is best for the member to login to their member.REALTOR.ca profile page to see what can and cannot be updated directly. The length of the profile description is 500 characters.
  4. I am licensed only as a property manager, but my office is a local board member. Can I post rental ads? It is best to contact your local board for more information as it relates to BC requirements.
  5. As an individual REALTOR®, do I need to register or join to access Data Distribution Facility® (DDF®), or is it included in my brokerage membership? All services provided through DDF® are part of CREA membership dues. An individual REALTOR® cannot join DDF® on their own, as their brokerage needs to opt-in and set permissions first.
  6. $2,500 for 100 users per month for the Brokerage Hub Service may be a bargain for large brokerages, but it’s a challenge for small brokerages. Can we combine it with another brokerage? Can our board provide this service? How are the 100 users per month calculated, by individual or per login? The Brokerage Hub Service subscription is per brokerage and can’t be combined with other brokerages. The service can be combined in cases where a brokerage has multiple offices. Member boards aren’t able to provide this service to brokerages as they access a different service, called the Multidomain Service, which has more features that provide learning to the entire membership, not just brokerages. 100 users per month breaks down as follows:
      • The brokerage can have 100 active users per month.
      • An active user is a user who uses the Learning Management System (LMS) to interact with or access a learning object in a brokerage course in a one-month period.
      • The active user can then use the LMS an unlimited number of times per month to access brokerage courses and is only counted as one active user.
      • If the user interacts with or accesses a learning object from a CREA or BCREA course, they are not counted as an active user for the brokerage.
